Autism: Moving Forward
Sometimes with a child who has autism, it is hard to tell if they are making progress socially.
My nephew is very intelligent, but has always had problems with social situations. So today he had to go for his school evaluation. We have all been nervous about this day. He gets to the meeting and is completely comfortable from the beginning. It was really amazing.
There were 6 teachers there and he totally charmed them all. His normal reaction to these situations is to scream incessantly. So this was a huge step forward for him.
Never give up! Autism is an ever changing disorder. What they can’t tolerate one day, may become easier for them without anyone ever knowing why.
